A beach defined by rock formations along its shoreline, still quiet and rarely on the standard tour circuit.
What makes it different
Watubela is known for the rock formations that rise along its shoreline — the name itself comes from the local word for stone. Unlike much of Sumba's south coast, where the swell arrives unbroken, here the rocks take the force of the waves first.
Still quiet
Watubela rarely appears on the large operators' itineraries, so it is almost always empty. If you want a beach without other people on it, that is the appeal. The trade-off is that there are almost no facilities.
